Description

French Green Clay

Country of origin: France

Description: It is brown in color with a slight green undertone. It comes from the sedimentation of Silico-aluminum, its coloring is the result of the oxides contained in those rocks. It has a neutral pH of 7. Its unique composition includes Iron, Silica, Aluminum, Magnesium, Calcium, Titanium, Sodium and Potassium. Also contains manganese, phosphorous, zinc, copper, selenium, cobalt, microscopic green algae, brown algae and phyto-nutrients.

Properties: It is especially appropriate for combination or oily skin care but also works well on other skin types. It absorbs excess skin fat, removes impurities and toxins, revitalizes the skin and encourages natural cell formation. It has also antiseptic effects and softens the skin. Because it is rich in phyto-nutrients it brings a lot of minerals and trace elements into the skin.

Directions for use: Mix clay with warm clean water or hydrosol (floral water) and apply evenly to previously cleansed skin, (can also be used on the body) avoiding the area around the eyes. You can add a tablespoon of a carrier oil and a drop or two of your favorite essential oil into the mixture. Leave on for 10 minutes (if you haven't added carrier oil, the mixture will dry), then rinse with water and moisten the skin with your toner or hydrosol and apply a moisturizer or natural oil.

Caution: When preparing mixtures with natural clays or plant powders, you should never use products made from metals (cups, spoons etc.) since the natural ingredients can react with metals and that changes them chemically.  It is best to use products made from wood, glass or ceramics.
