Description and usage: Made by steam distillation from leaves and flowers. It has mildy greenish golden yellow color and a sweet, herbaceous with woody base note. Basil Essential Oil has been used for a long time in traditional Indian ayurvedic medicine for its property to clear the mind and help with mental focus and concentration. Medicinally, it is also used to clear the sinuses, promote digestion and to stimulate respiratory circulation.
Blends well with: Bergamot, Clary Sage, Clove Bud, Lime, Eucalyptus, Juniper, Lemon, Neroli and Rosemary.
Interesting facts: Basil is an annual herb which grows 20-50 cm (8-20 in) in height. It s appears in clusters, framed by oval pointed green leaves. It originates from India where it has been grown for 5000 years. It is widely used in Italian and Mediterranean cooking. The name comes from the Greek word basielus, (king) and a lot of cooks call it The king of herbs.
