Description and usage: Made by steam distillation of Melissa leaves. It has a pale yellow color and a fresh, herbaceous, sour sweet smell, which reminds a bit of lemon and mint. It can be used to help treat depression, to calm, against flatulence, it has anticonvulsant properties, it is good for the heart, nerves and stomach. Is effective in relieving herpes, ulcers, fungal infections and headaches, but it is also known to strengthen the ability of memory.
Blends well with: basil, frankincense, geranium, chamomile, rose, lavender, ylang ylang.
Interesting facts: Melissa is a shrub with aromatic leaves. It grows mainly in the Mediterranean, but it is grown also in many parts of the world, it is popular as a potted plant. Outdoor it grows to 150 cm high, and it has a lot of tiny white flowers, full of nectar in summer, which attract bees.
