Description

Sesame oil, cold pressed, unrefined.  (Sesamum indicum )

Origin: India

Description: Cold pressed from Sesame seeds. It is light brown in color and has a very distinct seed aroma. It has the potential of overpowering other scents. Sesame is slightly thicker than typical carrier oils. It will not stain sheets, but does leave an oily residue on the skin.

Valuable components: Sesame Oil is rich in vitamins E and B6, and in minerals such as calcium, magnesium and phosphorus. It is rich in antioxidants and poly-unsaturated fatty acids – mostly linoleic and oleic, but also palmitic and stearic.

Usage: It is an excellent emollient and moisturizer for both skin and hair, and if used in dilution with other carrier oils, is a popular massage and aromatherapy carrier oil.

In India it is traditionally used for foot massage. It is great for skin nutrition and it works great on dry skin. It helps to rejuvenate skin and keeps its youthful look and it also gives minor protection from harmful sun rays. Should be avoided by individuals with nut allergies.

Facial care: Apply a small amount of the oil on clean skin which you previously moisturized with a toner or hydrosol.

Body care:  After bathing or showering, apply to moist skin and massage in. You can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil into the bottle for massaging.

Hair care: Apply to dry hair and massage well into the scalp. Leave on for a few hours or  overnight, then wash hair with a natural shampoo.

Shelf life: Users can expect a shelf life of 6 months to 1 year with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended.

Ingredients: Sesamum indicum
